The Road Calls

I named this site “The Road Calls” because it has always called to me to me ever since my first road trip across Canada, driven by wanderlust and the need to explore. Since then, I always have destinations available for whatever time I have, just in case the opportunity presents itself. I have a list of day trips, overnighters, two and three-day trips, trips that are a week or weeks long, and even month-long trips. My life is unique in that I don’t have a lot of commitments other than work, but it hasn’t always been that way, and I’ve still managed to cover a lot of ground. It’s all about having goals and dreams and the will to just pack the bike and head out when time and money permit.
There’s so much to see on this continent, some might say, unless you’ve been around the world, you’re not well-traveled, but I disagree. There are tourists from around the world who see our continent as a premium destination. We have some of the best roads and most interesting places to explore in Canada and the United States. And the best part most are reachable by motorcycle.
I enjoy traveling with others, but my advice to you is, don’t wait for other people to go with you. Learn to travel solo (especially on a motorcycle), and you will go more places and learn a lot about yourself. You will also be able to follow your own interests. Typically, you’ll meet more like-minded people as well. To me, the most important thing isn’t about where you go or how you go, it’s that you go! So I encourage you to get out there and start exploring and never waste a day.
